QuranApp Terms of Use

Effective and last updated: September 1, 2026

These Terms of Use govern use of the QuranApp app for iPhone and iPad. By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The app

QuranApp is an independent product published by Kimintang Sidibeh. It is not an official application of Quran Foundation, Quran.com, QuranReflect, UmmahAPI, or Apple.

The app is free, contains no advertising, requires no account, and offers Quran reading, recitation, study, Hifz, prayer-time, Qibla, dua, and related reference features.

Informational and religious content

Quranic text, translations, transliteration, tafsir, duas, prayer calculations, word meanings, and other reference material are provided for reading, education, and personal worship. Translations and concise explanations are interpretations and are not substitutes for guidance from a qualified scholar.

The app does not claim exclusive religious authority. Report a suspected Quran text, translation, attribution, or citation problem promptly to the contact address below.

Prayer times and Qibla

Prayer times depend on location, calculation method, juristic method, high-latitude rule, device settings, and local convention. They can differ from a mosque or local authority. Qibla readings can be affected by compass calibration, magnetic interference, device hardware, or an incorrect location. Check important times and directions against a trusted local source.

Audio, downloads, and network access

Some content requires internet access the first time it is opened. Supported content may be cached or downloaded for personal in-app use. Availability can change if a provider, network, license, or endpoint changes. Users may not extract, resell, sublicense, republish, or redistribute content obtained through the app as a separate dataset, feed, recording collection, or product.

Personal content

Bookmarks, notes, goals, and memorization records are stored locally. Users are responsible for their notes and device backups. The developer cannot recover local data after app deletion, device loss, or storage failure.

Users may not use the app to create, store, or share unlawful, hateful, extremist, sexual, misleading, or disparaging content, or to misrepresent the meaning or context of the Quran.

Permissions and privacy

Location and notification permissions are optional. Data handling is described in the QuranApp Privacy Policy.

Third-party services and content

The app uses third-party services and content that may include UmmahAPI, Quran Foundation APIs, Quran.com content, Apple platform services, and audio hosts, subject to applicable provider terms and permissions. Third-party services have their own terms and privacy practices. Continued availability is not guaranteed.

Quran Foundation content must not be modified, sold, sublicensed, redistributed as a separate content product, used to train a machine-learning model, or shown in a way that promotes hate, extremism, misinformation, or misrepresents the Quran.

Intellectual property

The app's original interface, icon, and original written material are protected by applicable law. Third-party Quran text, fonts, audio, translations, and datasets remain subject to their respective ownership and license terms. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of third-party content.

Acceptable use

Do not interfere with the app or its services, bypass access controls or rate limits, scrape or bulk-extract provider content, introduce malicious code, or use the app in violation of applicable law or another person's rights.

No warranty

To the extent permitted by law, the app and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, accuracy of translations or calculations, or fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from use or inability to use the app, reliance on prayer calculations or reference material, data loss, or a third-party service interruption. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be limited.

Suspension and changes

Access to a feature may be limited or removed when required for security, legal, provider, or technical reasons. Material changes to these terms will be identified by a new effective date and communicated through release notes or an in-app notice when appropriate.

Apple terms

The app is also licensed under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement where applicable.
